'Cong not filing FIR to save its face'

Monday, 31 August 2015 | PNS | DEHRADUN

Reacting to the Congress'  “political stunt”, leader of Opposition Ajay Bhatt has said that the Congress is doing this to hide its own failure and to divert the attention of the people. He said, “We were ready to go to jail in each district of the State. Once they lodge an FIR then we will start Jail Bharo campaign. Congress had realised that once they lodge FIR then they would caught on wrong side which is why they roll back their decision to lodge FIR against the BJP leaders,” he said.

It would be pertinent to mention here that Uttarakhand PCC president Kishore Upadhyay had claimed that if the BJP failed to submit master CD of the sting operation—in which then personal secretary to CM Mohammad Shahid was purportedly making a deal with the liquor syndicate on behalf of the State—then they would lodge FIR against all the leaders involved in making this CD public. To counter the Congress, the BJP had asked its party workers to be ready to put themselves in jail.

Bhatt alleged that Congress led State Govt is patronising the mafias active in land, mining and liquor business.

They have committed several scams like disaster kit scam, mining scam, land scam, SIIDCUl land scam, distribution of disaster relief scam and later cabinet waived off the money when district magistrate caught the anomaly and decided to recover this.

Earlier, Upadhyay had also claimed that the Congress would not allow BJP national president Amit Shah to enter Uttarakhand, but Shah came and Congress workers did not protest.

Union environment minister Prakash Javadekar is coming to Dehradun on Monday. Now the PCC rolled back its decision to lodge FIR against the BJP leaders and said that they don't want to give an issue to the BJP.
