Online DDR registering system in UT soon

Friday, 23 January 2015 | PNS | Chandigarh

Aiming to provide a hassle free facility to register Daily Diary Report (DDR) for lost articles of the citizens, Chandigarh police have decided to initiate online DDR registering system, wherein the people can report their lost items. Addressing a news conference here, RP Upadhyay, IGP, Chandigarh police, said that a decision in this regard has been taken to provide flexibility of time and place to the general public. With help of this online DDR system, people can report anywhere and anytime, regarding their lost items.

Presently people have to approach local police station, whenever they have to file a DDR. However after launch of this facility, people won't have to go to their local police station as they can directly file online DDR on their computer.  “This web portal will go a long way in improving delivery of police services to the citizens and also enhance work-efficiency of the police. The online DDR portal will be comprehensive, user-friendly and interactive,” added the IGP.

The complainant only has to submit the basic details of their lost article on the website. For instance, if a mobile phone is lost, complainant will have to insert mobile number, IMEI number of lost mobile, place where the mobile was lost and an alternative number of the complainant. After submitting all the information regarding the lost article, the complainant will also receive a signed printout copy of the DDR. The online complaints will be then forwarded to the police officials concerned, where the complainants have lost their article, and further action will be taken by the officials, said the IGP.
