TCS, Infosys' Indore campus to start functions from 2017

IT majors, TCS ltd and Infosys which have already started its construction works for Indore campus, are expected to commence its operations by middle of 2017.Development Commissioner Indore SEZ, Ishwar Singh informed that both the TCS and Infosys have already been granted all statutory permissions by various agencies and hopefully they should commence their operation almost two years from now.

Talking about Indore SEZ, he said the SEZ Indore has shown considerable growth in exports in 2015-16 and it has been pegged at Rs3,919 crore compared to Rs2,909 crores during the same period previous year. During the first quarter of current year the exports from Indore SEZ have crossed a mark of Rs1174 crore as compared to Rs928 crore during the corresponding period of previous year, a growth of 27 per cent.

The total turnover during the current quarter has been reported at Rs1,665 crore as compared to Rs1,233 crore during the corresponding period in previous year, showing a growth of over 35 per cent. Currently 47 units are operational in the Zone, while construction of 6 more units is underway, Singh said.

Talking about Crystal IT Park SEZ, the only functional IT SEZ of State, he said total export from Crystal IT Park for the year 2014-15 has been recorded at Rs 90.61 crore against Rs 73.47 crore in last financial year.Currently five units are functional in the crystal IT park, while development of four units are under implementation.
