Director of Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology Yogesh Singh has been appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor of Delhi Technological University (DTU). He was appointed to the new post on Tuesday and was holding the post as additional charge following the office falling vacant in September 2015.

His predecessor Pradeep Kumar had resigned from the post, in August 2015, four years before his term comes to an end, citing personal reasons.

“The Government of Delhi has appointed Professor Yogesh Singh as the new V-C of Delhi Technological University for a term of five years,” an official statement said. Singh has been the V-C of Maharaja Sayjirao University of Baroda from July 2011 to July 2014. He received MTech in electronics and communication and PhD (computer engineering) degrees from NIT, Kurukshetra, Haryana.

He is listed as third best amongst the most productive India authors for participating in Software Engineering Research reported in Indian Computer Science Research Output during 1999-2008: Qualitative Analysis, Journal of library and Information Technology, November 2010.
