Assembly condoles ex-MlA death

The State Assembly on Friday condoled the death of former MlA Bishwanath Nayk, who had represented Mohana to the Assembly in 1961. He died on April 19.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik brought a Obituary Reference as the House met at 10.30 for the day and requested Speaker to send condolence of the House to the bereaved family.  Patnaik said the demise of Nayak is a great loss to the State.

leader of Opposition Narasingha Mishra, BJP legislature Party leader Basanta Panda and CPI (M) lone member laxman Munda supported the reference and expressed deep grief over Nayak's death. The Speaker said the condolence reference would be sent to the bereaved family.

Members observed one-minute silence praying for the soul to rest in peace.
