A BSF constable lost battle of life in the final leg of the Junior leadership course after he collapsed before completing the 3.2-km long run at Subsidiary Training Centre, Dhar Road, Udhampur on Friday.
According to BSF spokesman, final Field Physical Efficiency Test (FPET) started at 6.15 am. “Before start of 3.2 km run of FPET, well being were asked from the participating troops and no complaint of any nature was expressed by anyone,” he said.
The BSF spokesman said, “At 6.40 am when Ct Anil Kumar was just few meter short of end point, he collapsed.”
“Doctor present their put him on oxygen support and simultaneously evacuated him in no time in BSF ambulance to civil hospital but he was declared brought dead,” the spokesman said.
Ruling out reports of any past history, BSF spokesman said the constable was medically fit and in the last 8 weeks of the training period he never complained.
Constable Anil Kumar, hailing from Deoria district of Uttar Pradesh, was attending Junior leadership Course for promotion from constable to head constable.
