'Ensure issue of partial completion certificate for incomplete flats'

Friday, 11 August 2017 | PNS | New Delhi

Expressing concern over developers in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat taking partial completion certificates and handing over the flats to the applicants in incomplete shape, a committee on subordination legislation has directed the Government to ensure that incomplete flat should be given partial completion certificate to protect the buyers’ interest under the Real Estate Regulation Act.

There were reports that Haryana and Uttar Pradesh’s RERA Rules have saved a majority of the ongoing real estate projects in NCR outside the ambit of real estate law as these States have excluded ongoing projects from registration. The Committee strongly recommended that the government must take all possible remedial measures.
