Sachida Nagdev-Rang Smriti commence

In the memory of legendary painter, late Sachida Nagdev  and on the occasion of his 78th Birthday three days long art festival ‘Sachida Nagdev-Rang Smriti’ commenced on Wednesday. The festival has been organised by Smita Nagdev in collaboration with IGRMS, AISECT University and MP Tourism Board at Aavriti Bhawan and its open air exhibition area.

 Adwaita Gadanayak, Director General, National Gallery of Modern Art inaugurated the memorial festival. On this occasion a memorial Souvenir on the life and works of Sachida Nagdev ji was launched.

 Remembering eight decade long artistic life of Sachida Nagdev a short documentary film with photographs, art works and narratives by family and friends was screened infront of the huge audience, present to pay tribute to Shri Nagdev.

 In this series, paying tribute to her father & legendary painter, Nagdev, Smita Nagdev commenced her performance with ‘Rag Rageshri’, as a tribute. She was accompanied by European artists, Florian Guibert withwestern flute and Ciril de Haes with double bass and on table - Ramendra Solanki from Bhopal. Next performance was a western classical song by the foreign musicians.  In the third performance the whole team performed fusion on Hindustani Classical and Western Classical. The last performance of the eve was Gandhiji's famous Bhajan 'Raghupati Raghav Rajaram' and the fusion was entitled as 'together for peace' a message to the listeners asking to work towards peace. Earlier the artists were welcomed with bouquets and the huge crowd cheered on every performance.

 On Thursday, two sessions of a colloquium will be organised where owners of top art galleries and renowned painters and art experts will participate and in the evening famous folk singer of Madhya Pradesh, Prahlad Tipaniyaji will present Kabir Gayan.
