13% drop in Delhi's pass percentage in CBSE Class X results

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced its results for Class X in the national Capital on Saturday with the pass percentage shockingly dipping to 78.09 per cent, a sharp dip of over 13 per cent since last year’s 91.06 per cent. The pass percentage has seen a dip, from a pass percentage of 98.40 in 2013, the number slumped to 91.76 per cent last year. This has further plummeted to 78.09 this year.

However, the Delhi Government celebrated claiming that the schools run by them got 3 per cent more from the last year’s pass percentage.

“Delhi Govt schools get 92.44% in Class 10 results; this is 3.19% higher than 2016 and 1.5% higher than CBSE national avg (sic)” Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia tweeted on Saturday evening.

Sisodia said, 428 students of Delhi Government schools have got 10/10 CGPA and 282 schools have got 100% results.

Around 437 students of the Amity International schools scored the magic number of 10 CGPA. RD Public Senior Secondary School performed well in the examination with Kirti Goyal scoring a perfect 10 CGPA and Adarsh Ranjan Jha got 9.7 CGPA.
