High Powered panel to monitor CG-SKY scheme implementation

There would be a High Powered Committee (HPC) chaired by the Chief Secretary Ajay Singh for monitoring the Chhattisgarh Sanchar Kranti Yojana (CG SKY) scheme to steer and guide the effective implementation of the scheme, officials informed.

Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Rural Development, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Industries, Principal Secretary, Finance, Principal Secretary, Department of IT, Secretary, Department of IT, Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Protection Department, Secretary, Higher Education, Secretary, Technical Education and CEO, CHiPS will be the HPC members.

Chhattisgarh Infotech Promotion Society (CHiPS) will get instructions and guidance from the HPC to implement the CG-SKY scheme.

CHiPS would be the implementing agency for the scheme and will work in close coordination with Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Protection Department as well as the respective District Collectors for mobile phone distribution.

The Society has hired a Project Management Unit (PMU) for strategic advisory and management of Chhattisgarh Sanchar Kranti Yojana (CG-SKY).

The PMU will provide the necessary facilitation support for each system (or sub system) of the project under the following five tracks:  1. Project Management 2. Support for Procurement and Bid process management (if any) 3. Distribution and logistics 4. Technology Enablement  5. Analytics.

The District Collectors will be responsible for preparing a distribution plan along with CHiPS and will ensure timely distribution of the same, officials informed.
