Ever since the results of the Union Public Service Commission Examination results were announced on Friday door bell and phone at the home of Anudeep Durisherty has not stopped ringing. There is an unending stream of visitors with sweet boxes and garlands to greet the young man who topped the list of 990 people from across the country who have qualified to join IAS, IFS, IPS and other all India services.

Through the hard work and dedication in pursuing their dreams these young men and women emerged successful in a tough process involving as many as 957,590 candidates.

For Anudeep Shetty, who was selected from Indian Revenue Service in 2013 but failed in three other attempts to reach the top echelons this was the last attempt and he threw everything into it.

Anudeep born in Metpally town of Jagatiyal district in Telangana was working as Assistant Commissioner, Direct Taxes and Customs and was understandably elated over cracking the elite service examination.

Son of Manohar Durishetty, an assistant divisional engineer with the Northern Telangana Power distribution company, Anudeep did his engineering from Bits Pilani in Rajasthan and worked with Google in Hyderabad before he cleared UPSC examination in 2013 to join IRS.

"I am very happy and excited. But the news is yet yo sink in", said the 28 year old bachelor.

Anudeep said he was fortunate to be working in IRS wile he appeared in the UPSC.

"Working in IRS for the last two years in the field was extremely enriching and it was very helpful. It was an enriching experience.  I learnt a lot from my colleague, senior officers and subordinates.

Having secure the top rank I feel incredibly grateful for all the support many people have given me. The credit goes to all of them. Today I want to thank each one of them", he said.

Describing the journey as arduous, Anudeep gave the credit of his success to his family. "It would not have been possible without their support all through", he said.

Apart from studies he has keen interest in artificial intelligence and is a football enthusiast. He is a great fan of Soccer star lionel Measi and tennis star Roger Federer.

While Anudeep made Telangana proud by securing the top position,  many other candidates from the state were also successful in the examination and interview. They include Srisailam Sai (43rd rank) Narapureddy Maurya (100), Vivek Johnson (195) Sai Praneet (196) and Yadavalli Akshay Kumar (624).

While Sai Parneet is the grandson of former Joint Director of CBI VV lakshminarayana who recently resigned from IPS to enter politics, Akshay Kumar was the son a police constable Y Dayakar of Manzoor police station in Warangal district.
