Ahead of Bakrid next month, Telangana Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali has appealed to Muslims to sacrifice sheep instead of cows.
‘’The cow is respected and worshipped in this faith (Hindu religion). I appeal to all Muslim brethren to totally refrain from sacrificing the cow. Instead, offer small sacrifice. You can sacrifice sheep or any other animals,’’ he said.
Law and order is very good in Telangana, he told reporters here. Ali, who was speaking near Charminar here, further said the four minarets of the iconic structure represent Hinduism, Islam, Sikhism and Christianity. Quli Qutub Shah built Charminar. The four minarets have been built for Charminar — Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Christianity.
