Baghsewania police arrests 2 thieves, recovers Rs 12.57 lakh

Baghsewania police arrested two burglars from Sagar and recovered Rs 12.57 lakh cash and gold bangles which were stolen from Alkapuri ; accused work as domestic help for the victim.

 The nabbed accused were identified as Sonu Ladhi (29) and Bhagwan Singh (38) who are residents of Banda Sagar who sed to work at the victim Mayank Chawla’s house in Alkapuri. After the two were nabbed police found that Sonu was booked on the charges of murder by Banda police.

The victim Mayank Chawla had gone for last rites of his uncle Rajesh Chawla who died of cardiac arrest three days ago and when he returned on Monday the valuables were found burgled. The accused Sonu was employed on October 10 and in the past three days after victim left the house he committed the burglary.

 A complaint was lodged with the police by the victim in which the victim stated that they left the house after his uncle died and after last rituals when they returned their domestic help Sonu Lodhi was found missing and Rs 14 lakh cash and gold and silver jewelry worth Rs 1.80 lakh were burgled. The total loss in the burglary was Rs 15.80 lakh.

 The lock of the almirah was not broken which suggest that the accused have produced duplicate keys and using the keys committed the burglary. Based on the complaint police registered case and arrested Sonu and Bhagwan from Sagar and recovered Rs 12.57 lakh cash and gold bangles from their possession
