Bhopalites enjoyed an evening of classical music and dance at Madhya Pradesh State Tribal Museum in an event held here on Sunday.

The programme started with the semi classical singing performance by Monika Shah from Ahmedabad. She began her performance with 'Yehana Yoga'. It was followed with 'Debo Dan Moh' and 'Rasta River Tore Balma' in Raga Yaman Chhoti Khayal.

After this, the artists presented the traditional Thumri 'Tumto Karat Barjori'. After Thumri, the artists spell all the audience by presenting the Chaitya Chaitya Maas Chunari Rangaiya. After thumri, Dadra 'Deewana Shyam' was performed. Monika Shah wrapped up his presentation by Bhajan 'Aila Rei Mere Nayna Baan Padi' with fellow artists.

She was accompanied by Manoj Patidar on tabla, Akash Joshi on harmonium, and Ajay Thakur on Tanpura.

After singing, Nivedita Pandya and Sashastri Harmalkar performed Kathak dance with their fellow artists.

The beginning of the dance, the artists presented a dance on 'Jai Mahesh Jata', which was dedicated to Lord Shiva. In which the artists were depicted a form of Shiva with their dance skills and wondrous body language. After this, in the three-lanat, a dance was performed on the compositions of Amad, Talaad, Paran composed by Raja Chakradhar Singh.

After this, Nivedita Pandya and Sastri Harmalkar presented the forms of Radha-Krishna. At the end of the dance presentation, the artists performed dance on 'Bhave Sune Nath', like 'Bidadin Maharaj ji', 'Meri Sune Nath'. In this presentation, the avatar of Lord Vishnu and the form of Vishnu was performed by Nivedita Pandya and Sashvati Harmalar.

During the dance presentation, Nivedita Pandya and Sashwati Harmalkar was accompanied by Smita Vajpayee on the sitar, Suchitra Harmalkar on vocal recitation and Mrinal Nagar collaborated on Tabla.
