Friday, 13 December 2019 | SURESH NIKHAR | BERMO

Union Minister for Defence Rajnath Singh on Thursday claimed that the BJP will form Government in State as the party will easily get majority in ongoing Assembly elections.

Singh, addressing a public meeting at KB High school ground in Dumari, said the BJP is getting the support of the people as the party has been fulfilling its promises such as abrogation of Article 370, making 'triple talaq' punishable under law and announcing a ‘grand’ Ram temple in Ayodhya, following the Supreme Court verdict.

Referring to situation in Kashmir before the abrogation of Article 370, he said, “The situation in Kashmir was different as the State despite being an integral part of country had a different flag and constitution, the region had a separate Prime Minister. Our promise to abrogate Article 370 was mocked by Opposition parties.” He further said, “However the situation changed when the party received majority in Parliament, we scrapped it. The BJP’ track record of delivering election promises is unmatched.”

The former BJP national president said when we spoke about construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya again the Opposition parties used to mock us, but now you will see a grand temple coming up at Lord Ram’s birthplace.

About criticism by the Opposition on the National Register of Citizens (NRC), Singh said, "Is it not our responsibility to identify infiltrators living in the country? We will neither accept them as Indian nationals nor grant them citizenship."

The BJP leader appreciating Raghubar Das government said that it has changed the image and fate of Jharkhand in the last five years by providing a stable and corruption-free government.

"This election (Assembly polls) is not for any individual, nor it is make anybody MLA or minister; this election is to change the fate of Jharkhand. You have to elect the party which can fulfill goals," Singh said.

"While former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee created Jharkhand, PM Narendra Modi has nourished it," he added.

Singh criticized the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) saying that the party has always neglected the plight of tribals.

The senior BJP leader and defense minister, who spoke at the rally in support of party candidate Pradeep Kumar Sahu from the Dumari seat, asserted that the NRC would be implemented across the country.

He said that nation has grown stronger under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Singh said during my visit to different countries, I have witnessed that the opinion of the world towards India has undergone a positive change. He also lauded the Raghubar Das -led state government of providing double LPG cylinders to each household. Comparing the data on development with Congress , Singh said the Congress constructed 25 lakh houses in six years while BJP constructed 1.30 crore houses in the last five years, the NDA government has taken care of basic requirement of poor people by building toilets, providing housing, gas connections and health schemes.
