BJP seeks action against Sisodia for sending letters to voters about improved state of Govt schools

Friday, 05 April 2019 | Staff Reporter | NEW DELHI

Delhi BJP has sought action against Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia for allegedly sending lakhs of letters to voters about the improved state of Government schools without permission from the Election Commission, violating the Model Code of Conduct.

Vijender Gupta, Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, filed the complaint with the Chief Electoral Officer of Delhi accusing  Education Minister Sisodia of sending the letters without the statutory permission as required under the Model Code of Conduct.

Notably, AAP government has sent letters to Delhi residents to convey the achievements of their government in education sector.  Raising objections, Gupta said, "By sending letters direct to home is a gross violation of MCC."  Attacking on AAP national convener, Gupta accused Kejriwal for indulging in corruption and irregularities in Delhi Jal Board (DJB).

Gupta alleged Kejriwal is misusing his post in Jal Board and demanded investigation urging Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal for investigation. "Becoming DJB Chief, not only the financial deficit has increased manifold but also the level of corruption increased many times.  Tanker mafia still rules the distribution of water flouting GPS with impunity."
