Chapter related to traffic included in Class XI, XII

Friday, 31 May 2019 | Staff Reporter | Bhopal

A chapter related to traffic has been included in the syllabus of Class XI and Class XII from the new academic session in the State. Through this, the youth will be made aware of traffic rules and regulations and road safety measures.

People will be made aware through a campaign from June 1 to 30. This information was given in a meeting held on road safety under the presidentship of Special Director General of Police Purushottam Sharma. Nodal officers of State Road Safety Implementation Committee along with DIG Dharmendra Chowdhary were present in the meeting.

Sharma said that the Transport Department should take action to cancel the licenses of those who violate the traffic rules. He suggested linking the licenses in the coming days so that new license could not be made from elsewhere. He said that work has been done on the black spots in the state through short term. Reform instructions have been issued through long term.

It is also being told to try to change the turn and its geographical structure by studying rural roads. Sharma said regular meetings of District Road Safety Committee should be held and the committee should identify such spots where more accidents have taken place. This could reduce the number of accidents. Sharma told that it will be publicized on the state level also with the intention of making people aware.

It was told at the meeting that more accidents have occurred on rural roads compared to national and state highways.
