Ranchi’s beauty Pragya Shree has been crowned as Miss Diva Vivacious at the Astitva Diva Miss & Mrs India 2019 contest. With a total of 21 contestants from all across the country, the competition was held in Haldwani, Uttarakhand on July 3.
Born in Patna, Pragya (22) did her schooling from Meghatuburu in West Jharkhand and her graduation in accounts honours from Magadh University.
Her father works with the Steel Authority of India and is currently posted in Ranchi for the last few years while her mother is a social worker.
“When I was approached to participate in this pageant I was very excited. I had a wild card entry to the competition. I decided to dress up as a Kashmiri girl because
I wanted to look different from the others since brides and tribals were very common. When I was crowned as Miss Diva Vivacious, I was in high spirits. Being a part of such a contest has been a great learning expeience,” said an ecstatic Pragya.
The event was spread over four days- June 30 to July 3. On the first day the contestants had an introduction and a talent round.
On the second day they were taken for a group outing for local sightseeing. It was on the third day that all the participants had to perform a spontaneous dance show followed by a question answer round. The finale was on the fourth day which included three rounds of ramp walk. The first being a cultural round, second was indo- western and the last round was of an evening gown.
The aspiring model started her modeling career in the State capital in 2016 and since then there has been no looking back. She has done fashion shows for brands like Matrix- hair colour and Khadi Gram Udyog in Ranchi.
The young model wants to be a part of international fashion shows in the future. “I want to try for international pageants like Miss India or Miss Earth. I also want to open a training and grooming institute for girls who aspire to take part in such con tests and give them a good learning platform,”
she remarked. In Ranchi she is actively involved in a couple of NGO’s where she teaches dance to young girls and tries to do her best for their upliftment.
Since childhood, Pragya wanted to be a part of the glamour world and is extremely thankful to her parents for always supporting and encouraging her.
“Generally parents don’t want their children to do modeling but my parents have always stood by me.
They make it a point to accompany me for all my shows and have taught me to chase my dreams,” she further stated.
