Kurukshetra Development Board (KDB) and GIEO GITA (Global Inspiration and Enlightenment Organisation of Gita) would jointly organise the Gita Jayanti Samaroh at London in UK from August 9 to 11 in its effort to propagate the teachings of holy Bhagwad Gita at the International level.
This was stated by Swami Gyana Nand Maharaj, head of the GIEO GITA organisation while presiding over a meeting of advisory committee to chalk out the plan for the Gita Jayanti to be celebrated at Kurukshetra from November 22 to December 10.
Besides representatives of various religious and social organisations of the area, the Member of Parliament, Nayab Singh Saini, DC Kurukshetra, SS Phulia and honorary Secretary of KDB, Madan Mohan Chhabara and members of KDB attended the meeting here.
Gyana Nand said that with the help of Haryana Government, we are trying to restore the sanctity of many religious places in the 48 ‘Kos’ area of holy Kurukshetra.
He said that it was in this regard that Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal had personally visited 41 important religious places during the past to take stock of the situation for their improvement.
Haryana Government is taking steps to propagate the message of Gita to the extent that whenever someone comes to India for tourism, they must visit Kurukshetra, the birthplace of Gita, he said.
