Food Minister Amarjeet Bhagat has given instructions to extend the last date of submission for APL ration card application forms from September 17 to September 23.
Minister Bhagat said that for people who could not submit applications for BPL ration cards, or if the ration card that has been issued/renewed has errors, ration would be allotted on old ration card.
People with such issues will be given another opportunity to submit application form for BPL ration card. People, who have not yet received their renewed BPL ration card, will be provided ration on old cards.
Mayor Raipur Municipal Corporation Pramod Dubey, MLAs Kuldeep Juneja and Vikas Upadhyay along with many public representatives met Bhagat and requested him to extend the last date of submission of application forms for APL ration card. They also handed over a memorandum to him in this regard.
On instructions of Bhagat, Commissioner of Food Civil Supply and Consumer Protection Department Dr Kamalpreet Singh has written letter to all the district collectors, directing them to ensure necessary action.
Commissioner stated in the letter that the time limit for issuance of new APL ration cards has been revised. Under PDS, last date of submission of application forms for APL ration cards was declared to be September 17, but now it has been extended to September 23, as per the decision of State Government.
The commissioner directed the district collectors to widely publicize the extension of last date of application submission so that eligible people may avail this scheme.
