The Delhi Police has arrested a 20-year-old man who after killing his friend threw his body on the railway track in Moti Nagar area on the intervening night of Monday-Tuesday and later called police in order to mislead.

The accused identified as Gulkesh (20), a resident of Prem Nagar. According to Monika Bhardwaj, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), West district, police had received information on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday regarding a body on the railway track near Delhi’s Prem Nagar Phatak, Rama Road.

“Thereafter, police rushed to the spot where they met Gulkesh who cooked up a false story that someone has killed his known Dalbir, a resident of Inderlok, and thrown his body on the track,” said the DCP.

“Police found one leg of the deceased where the accused was standing, while the remaining parts of body were found into pieces about one kilometer ahead on the railway track,” said the DCP.

“During investigation, when police questioned Gulkesh regarding the blood stains found on his clothes, he could not give satisfactory answers. However, the accused broke down and accepted his crime. He disclosed that he had illicit relation with deceased’s wife Pooja (name changed) and wanted to marry her,” the DCP added.

“Pooja, although, liked him but did not want to marry him. In order to get married with Pooja, he hatched a conspiracy to eliminate Dalbir, police said.

“Gulkesh told police that he called Dalbir on Monday evening and asked him to go to towards railway track near Zakhira. When they were walking near the track, Gulkesh attacked Dalbir with a brick, following which he became unconscious,” said the DCP adding that thereafter, Gulkesh threw him on the track and called police and he also informed Pooja about the incident.
