Crime Branch police nabbed 10 gamblers, recovered Rs 27000 cash and playing cards from Harijan Basti in Teelajamalpura area on Wednesday.
Acting on a tip-off, gamblers were nabbed who were caught gambling from a house in Gali no 2 in Harijan Basti. The operator and mastermind behind the gambling was Idris Khan who was operating the gambling at his house.
Apart from Idris, Nasir Ahmed, Habib, Shadab, Aman, Amar, Nazim, Sonu and Vijay were nabbed. From the spot police found transactions of betting and recovered Rs 27000 cash. The police have registered a case under Gambling Act. Police said that details of the gamblers are under investigation. The gamblers are involved in other illegal activities could not be ascertained.
The nabbed gamblers and close aides of the main accused would be quizzed. The details of the 10 gamblers nabbed would be investigated in the further investigation.
