Four-fold penalty for damaging Govt property: CM

Strict action will be taken under the Disaster Management Act 2005 against those opposing the Governmental actions being taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19, said CM Rawat. If those quarantined go into hiding, they and those providing shelter to them will face strict action. “Information is being received about some persons having attempted to damage Govt property. Such people are warned that damaging Govt property will invite four-fold penalty. People have also been influenced by rumours in some places. All are requested to ignore rumours and believe only certified information provided by the Govt.

Guidelines issued by the Health dept from time to time is being communicated to the public through the media,” said Rawat.
