Saturday, 11 July 2020 | Staff Reporter | NEW DELHI

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday interacted with plasma donors and appreciated their contribution in fight against Covid-19.

Taking to Twitter, Arvind Kejriwal shared the audio of his conversation with the plasma donors. He praised them for donating plasma and appealed to them to motivate more Corona recovered patients to come forward and donate plasma.

The Delhi Government has set-up India's first plasma bank at the ILBS Hospital, with an objective to maintain a plasma stock from those who have already recovered from Corona.

"When I hear stories of plasma donors, I feel very proud of my fellow Delhiites. So I decided to call and congratulate some donors. Do listen in to my conversation with plasma donors Srishti and Bhumika,” Chief Minister Kejriwal tweeted.

In the audio clip shared by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Twitter, a Corona recovered patient Srishti said she observed Corona symptoms for five days but has fully recovered now.

Chief Minister Kejriwal praised her for donating plasma and said he was proud of her. Srishti thanked the CM for motivating people to donate plasma and also lauded the infrastructure and facilities of the plasma bank at the ILBS hospital.

He also said she suffered no weakness or pain, and the doctors and the medical staff at the plasma bank was very helpful and guided her through the whole process.

CM Kejriwal expressed his concerns over people assuming that they will get infected again if they visit ILBS hospital, despite knowing that ILBS is a non-COVID hospital.

Srishti also said that the hospital is very clean and hygienic and there is no risk of getting infected, as all precautions are taken inside the hospital. She also said that she will also encourage her neighbor who has recovered from Corona to donate plasma.

Chief Minister Kejriwal also spoke to another plasma donor Bhoomika and praised her for donating plasma. He said her donation is an inspiration for everyone and people get inspired and motivated to do such things when youth like her come forward and save lives.

“I would like to applaud you sir because this initiative is actually very good. The doctors at the plasma bank are providing all facilities. I do not understand why people are not going to donate. That hospital is a non-COVID hospital, people cannot get infected. There is enough social distancing maintained in the hospital." She also said that she will motivate others to donate plasma and save lives. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal called her a hero and lauded her for donating plasma,” Bhoomika said.
