SISTec forms floating concrete blocks

Sagar Group’s Sagar Institute of Science and Technology (SISTec) Gandhi Nagar Civil Engineering Department has successfully prepared floating concrete in form of light weight blocks using the state-of-art SISTec Labs. Students used material of quartz sand, calcined gypsum, cement, fly ash, aluminium powder and water to create the block having durable strength.

The cost of creating four blocks is approx one thousand rupees. The light weight block can be used for reduction in dead loads making savings in foundations and reinforcement and has improved thermal properties and improved fire resistance and is saving of transportation cost.

Keshvendra Chaudhary, Principal SISTec, Swati Saxena, Vice Principal SISTec, Megha Jain - HoD Civil Engineering department congratulated the students for successful completion of project. Sudhir Kumar Agrawal, Chairman Sagar Group and Siddharth Sudhir Agrawal, Managing Director, Sagar Group have congratulated Team SISTec, department of civil engineering and faculties for their commendable efforts on imparting practical knowledge to students using SISTec Labs.
