Six lakh farmers join Yogi on social media

Sunday, 27 December 2020 | PNS | Lucknow

On the occasion of the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Friday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath again created a record of sorts when more than six lakh farmers joined him on social media  through Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.

Not only this, 11,33,392 farmers participated in the virtual programme organised at 2,160 different places in the state, creating a record of such a large number of farmers participating in a programme.

Sources here on Saturday claimed that as soon as the UP chief minister castigated the opposition for misleading the innocent farmers, within minutes people in huge numbers joined the event and also followed Yogi Adityanath later.

After the live event was finished, lakhs of people watched the programme on YouTube.

“We cannot deny the fact about the way CM Yogi delivers his charismatic speeches, making people go crazy for him. It is Yogiji’s captivating personality that his followers of the micro-blogging site have crossed over 1.25 billion,” a senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader here claimed.

Notably, many dignitaries, including BJP MPs and MLAs, agricultural experts, and ministers took part in the event held on December 25.  They spoke about how farmers’ laws brought by the Central government will improve agriculture and bring a change in their lives.
