Piplani have arrested three drug peddlers carrying drugs worth Rs 7 lakh to Rs 10 lakh on Monday; LSD, XTC and MDMA drugs have been seized from the drug peddlers.
The action was taken after receiving information that drug peddlers carrying would drugs were roaming in Indrapuri and nabbed three drug peddlers.
On the receipt of the information police reached rushed to the spot and nabbed drug peddlers. Police have seized 100 LSD stamps and 100 tablets of XTC/ MMDA. The drug peddlers were identified as Prakhar Singh, Rithwik Kaushal and Ayush Manwani.
SHO Chain Singh Raghuvanshi said that Prakhar and Rithwik are students. The accused have procured the drugs from ‘dark net’ and were involved in drug peddling from lockdown.
The three do not hold any crime record which has been found in the investigation. After the drugs were delivered to the accused they would sell and consume the drugs. The LSD stamp is consumed by keeping it directly on the tongue and it affects the brain immediately. The drugs are highly potent, he added.
After the initial investigation police have registered a case under sections 8 and 20 of the NDPS Act.
The local connection of drug peddlers would be investigated in the further investigation. The details of having money to buy these drugs would be investigated and it is possible that the accused might have committed crime to obtain money.
