The Odisha Development Forum (ODF) along with several social organisations submitted a memorandum to all 13 MLAs of Ganjam district and related department Secretaries of Government of Odisha through a letter campaign for early steps to establish an airport at Brahmapur, besides rapid industrialisation, development of tourism destinations, roads and railways in Ganjam district.

ODF secretary Rama Prasad Tripathy said this here in a Press release. Notably during a recent meeting with the Assembly Speaker about the establishment of an airport at Brahmapur, the Speaker reportedly had suggested the delegation to meet all MLAs of Ganjam district to raise the long standing issues in the upcoming Assembly meeting for discussion and for further action. Significantly, senior leader of the district and former Assembly Deputy Speaker Rama Chandra Panda also recently had backed the airport demand made by the public and different socio political bodies. Forum vice-president Babita Patra, executive members, Prakas Pradhan, Laxmi Narayan Padhy, V Someshwar Rao, coordinator of United Forum Manas Patra, ‘Utkal Samaj’ State secretary Saroj Pattnaik, Pritish Panigrahi, Ravi Kumar, K Arun Rao of ‘Bahumukhi Samaj Mangal Kendra’, former Army Officer Padmacharan Sahu, Sudam Bhai, Balakrishna Samantaraya, Jagadish Bhai, Gauri Samantaraya, Ravi Sahu, Tutu Gowda, Loknath Acharya, L Suryanarayana, K Srinivasan, Niranjan Sahu, M Mararaka, Suresh Kumar and several intellectuals participated in the  campaign sent to all MLAs of the district.
