Thirteen fatalities, highest ever in a single day were reported in Chandigarh as 724 fresh Covid-19 cases surfaced on Friday. The total caseload was recorded at 42647 while the death toll stood at 478, according to Chandigarh’s health bulletin.
The active cases have jumped to 6906 in the city. In the last 24 hours, two residents each from Manimajra and Sector 52, one each from Sector 9, 14, 24, 38, 40, 45, 48, Mauli Jagran and Daria died due to COVID-19.A maximum of 34 cases were reported in Sector 46, the bulletin stated. 457 patients have recovered from the virus in the past 24 hours taking the total number of recoveries to 35263 in the city. 4.04 lakh samples have so far been tested in the city.
