Online Olympiad is an excellent medium to develop a competitive spirit among students, Chhattisgarh School Education Minister Dr Premsai Singh Tekam said on Thursday.
The students not only develop their abilities but are also able to assess their preparation at the national level by taking part in Olympiad, he said.
The Minister was addressing a national level Common Service Center (CSC) Olympiad award distribution ceremony here.
He gave away prizes to 10 children from the state who came in the merit list of Olympiad. As many as 2.04 lakh students including 11,000 from Chhattisgarh participated across the country.
The Olympiad was held from October 12 to November 4 by the Ministry of Electronics and IY for students of Class III to 12 on various subjects including Hindi, English, Mathematics, Science, Physics and Chemistry.
At the prize distribution ceremony, Class III student Devansh Soni bagged the second prize in Hindi, Sakhi Kaur Khalsa the third prize in English, Class V student Khushi Haldhar the second prize in Science, Class VI student the second prize in Mathematics, Class VII's Divyans Sahu the first prize in Mathematics, Class X student Saumya Verma the second prize in English, Class XI student Devanshu Dewangan the second prize in Hindi, Class XI's Chirag Garg the second prize in Physics, Class XII student Rajendra Verma the third prize in Chemistry and Class XII student Rishabh Tripathi the first prize in Physics.
