SR BADAL MISSING FROM LIST; SUKHBIR TO CONTEST FROM JALALABAD

SAD on Monday released the first list of candidate for 2022 polls with 64 names, of which 22 were already announced by the party chief. While the former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal is not included from the list, SAD president and Ferozepur MP Sukhbir Singh Badal will contest from Jalalabad.

As senior Badal’s name was not in the list, the party has not announced any candidate from the Lambi assembly constituency from where he is a sitting MLA.

With this, the party is left with finalising just 33 candidates. Retaining most of the his previous candidates, SAD announced the name of Jathedar Tota Singh from Dharmkot; Janmeja Singh Sekhon from Zira; Daljit Singh Cheema from Ropar; Maheshinder Singh Grewal from Ludhiana West; Sikander Singh Maluka from Rampura Phul; Jagmeet Singh Brar from Maur; Sharanjit Singh Dhillon from Sahnewal; and Gulzar Singh Ranike from Attari (SC) constituencies. Malkit Singh will contest from Jandiala assembly segment, Anil Joshi (Amritsar North), Dalbir Singh Verka (Amritsar West), Talbir Singh Gill (Amritsar South), Gulzar Singh Ranike (Attari SC), Harmeet Singh Sandhu (Tarn Taran), Virsa Singh Valtoha (Khem Karan).

Similarly, former Minister Adaish Partap Singh Kairon will contest from Patti, Baldev Singh Khaira (Phillaur), Gurpartap Singh Wadala (Nakodar), Chandan Grewal (Jalandhar Central), Jagbir Singh Brar (Jalandhar Cantt), Pawan Kumar Tinu (Adampur (SC)), Sarabjeet Singh Saabi (Mukerian), Sohan Singh Thandal (Chabbewal (SC)), Surinder Singh Bhulewal Rathan (Garhshankar), Sukhwinder Singh Sukhi (Banga (SC)), Ranjit Singh Gill (Kharar), Jagdeep Singh Cheema (Fatehgarh Sahib), Gurpreet Singh Raju (Amloh), Paramjeet Singh Dhillon (Samrala), Ranjit Singh Gill (Ludhiana East), Harish Rai Danda (Atam Nagar), Pritpal Singh Pali (Ludhiana Central), Darshan Singh Shivalik (Gill), Manpreet Singh Ayali (Dakha), SR Kaler (Jagraon), Teerath Singh Mahla (Bagha Purana) and Makhan Barjinder Singh (Moga).
