The cyclonic storm-JAWAD is weakening and there are chances of heavy to light rainfall in some parts of the State. According to the Ranchi center of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) after December 6 the sky will be clear and the normal temperature will start falling.
Deputy Director IMD, Ranchi, Abhisek Anand said it is likely to move nearly northwards and weaken into a Deep Depression during next six hours and then move North-Northeastwards along Odisha coast and reach near Puri around noon on December 5. Subsequently, it is likely to weaken further and continue to move North-North-Eastwards along Odisha coast towards West Bengal coast, he added.
“The Cyclonic Storm ‘JAWAD’ (Pronounced as JOWAD) over West-Central Bay of Bengal moved slightly North-Westwards with a speed of 3 kmph during past Six hours and lay centered at 1430 PM on Saturday, over West-Central Bay of Bengal near Lattitude 16.5°N and Longiude 84.7°E, about 200 km East-South-East of Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, 310 km South-South-West of Gopalpur in Odisha, 380 km South-South-West of Puri in Odisha and 470 km South-South-West of Paradip in Odisha,†said Anand.
