Thakur, Yogi inaugurate Doordarshan ground sub-centre in Gkp

Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Singh Thakur and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Friday, inaugurated the ground sub-centre of Doordarshan in Gorakhpur.

 

Along with this, they also inaugurated the installation of three FMs of the newly-created Akashvani of 10 kilowatt each at Gadnia in Etawah, Lakhimpur Kheri and Nanpara in Bahraich. The stations were inaugurated through virtual medium.

 

In his address on the occasion, Thakur said that with the inauguration of the ground sub-station of Doordarshan in Gorakhpur, now the local programmes would reach all over the country.

 

He announced that from December 11, a special one-hour programme would be telecast in Bhojpuri from Doordarshan Kendra Gorakhpur.  He said that soon three more FMs of Akashvani would be launched at Sultanpur, Rampur and Maharajganj.

 

Thakur said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was propagating his message to the people through Mann Ki Baat programme from All India Radio and the number of listeners was increasing day by day. He said that in the coming days more FM's would be installed across the country.

 

Appreciating the tenure of Yogi Adityanath government in the state, the Union minister said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had liberated Uttar Pradesh from the mafia. He said that the law and order situation had improved in the state.     

 

Thakur said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had successfully managed the coronavirus epidemic in UP, which had the largest population of the country.

 

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, in his address, said that with the inauguration of the ground sub-centre of Doordarshan Gorakhpur on Friday, the decades-long demand of the local artistes had been fulfilled. He said that now Doordarshan Kendra Gorakhpur would reach more people through its programmes.

 

The chief minister thanked the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for starting the telecast of a special one-hour programme in Bhojpuri from Doordarshan Gorakhpur from December 11.

 

Earlier, while addressing the programme, Principal Director General of All India Radio, N  Venudhar Reddy, said that with the commissioning of these three FMs of All India Radio, Akashvani would get 1.5 crore more listeners.

 

Director General, Doordarshan, Mayank Agrawal, said that with the launch of the geo-sub kendra, now Gorakhpur Kendra had been connected with the network spread across the country, including Lucknow and Delhi.

 

He said that now programmes of local folk culture would be able to reach all over the country.
