A comedy play ‘Haye Mera Dil’ was staged at Tarang Auditorium

A man discovered that he will die soon. This notion of his, follows a series of comic situations that made audience laugh their hearts out. A comedy play ‘Haye Mera Dil’ was staged at Tarang Auditorium here on Sunday.

It marked the closure of four day theatre festival 28th National Drama festival.

Directed by Dinesh Thakur, the play was performed by the artists of Ank Theatre troupe of Mumbai. The play was a satire on society that showcased about how hallucinations can bring ‘tsunami’ of disasters in one’s life.

The story of the play revolves around a man ‘Madan’. Now Madan is a big time prey of hallucinations and false notions. He belifs whatever bad and dangerous is happening around him is just happening for him. He is specially affected with hallucinations of different diseases. For example, if a person will sneeze in front of him, Madan will begin to think that he is also suffering with cough and cold.

One fine day, Madan’s friend who is Madan’s family doctor as well, tells Madan about a severe heart disease. Dr Ghosh, Madan’s friend tells him that one of his patients is suffering with a heart disease and thus will live for a short period of time. Listening to this, Madan thought that he will live only for a shorter period of time and will die soon.

Under this fake notion, he worries about his wife. He starts planning to get his wife married to one of his colleagues Mohan. He even start the preparation, what follows is a series of twisted comedy situations.

The audience enjoyed the show whole heartedly as the artists managed to make the audience glued to their seats till the end.
