About 15,000 Kirtan artists led by activist Er Debashisha Hota demonstrated at Bhubaneswar demanding hike in the monthly financial support from the State Government under the “Mukhyamantri Kalakar Sahayata Yojana.â€
They demanded CM Naveen Patnaik for increasing the monthly support to Rs 5,000 and lowering the age limit to 30 years to get the benefit.
It is noteworthy that a total of 7,897 Kirtan artists of Dhenkanal district and 7,600 of Angul district have applied financial benefit under the Mukhyamantri Kalakar Sahayata Yojana. But, only 200 from each district are getting the financial support.
