Problem of power cut in Haryana will be resolved soon: CM

Friday, 22 April 2022 | PNS | Chandigarh

Admitting that there is shortage of power supply during the ongoing summer season because of unexpected increase in electricity demand in the State, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday said that the State Government is trying its level best to overcome this power shortage.

The Chief Minister, interacting with the media persons after presiding over the District Public Relations and Grievance Redressal Committee meeting held in Gurugram, said that the talks have been held with the companies providing electricity.

“A meeting in this regard would soon be held with the power companies and we are hopeful that the problem of power shortage would soon be resolved,” he added.

Responding to the law and order questions, Khattar said that the situation in Gurugram is good and the Police is ensuring resolving the incidents in a very short span of time.

The Chief Minister said that whenever the State Government holds talks with the investors, they happily say that as compared to other states, the law and order situation in Haryana is better. “Today, due to better law and order in Haryana, the number of investors is increasing continuously in Gurugram, Faridabad, Rewari, Mahendragarh and Jhajjar districts,” he said.

Responding to a question regarding action being taken by Vigilance Bureau against corruption, the Chief Minister said that the State Vigilance Bureau has been strengthened with the formation of Divisional Vigilance Bureau (DVB) in all six divisions of the State.

“Along with increasing the force in these Bureaus, their tasks have also been divided. These Bureaus will investigate complaints about the loss of the government exchequer,” he added.

The Chief Minister said that consistent attacks are being made on corruption and the State Government does not wish to make much noise about its anti-corruption drives. While underlining the fact that in Haryana, corruption will not be tolerated at any cost, the Chief Minister also gave the slogan ‘Bhrashtachar ka KaalManohar Lal’.

Responding to the questions of Opposition regarding the inauguration of new BJP office ‘Guru Kamal’ in Gurugram, Khattar said that the Opposition can only level allegations by talking beyond facts. “We have given land to all political parties to build their offices. Congress is running its office in Gurugram at Kaman Sarai instead of municipal parking. If they want, they can apply for land to build their office, we are ready to give them the same land at the same rate at which the land for the BJP office has been allotted,” Khattar said.

Through media, the Chief Minister also urged the people to follow the COVID-19 protocol of wearing masks, especially in public places and offices. He said that in view of the increasing infection cases in the Delhi-NCR region, the wearing of masks has been made mandatory for the general public in four districts of the state, including Gurugram.

‘OFFICERS SHOULD ENSURE REMOVAL OF ENCROACHMENTS IN THEIR RESPECTIVE JURISDICTION’

During meeting, the complaints regarding illegal slums and encroachments on government land were also raised before the Chief Minister on which Khattar directed all the officers to ensure immediate removal of all illegal encroachments in their respective jurisdictions.

Besides, he also directed that the land given for public facilities should also be registered in the name of the Department or government in the revenue records. He directed all the agencies to work in coordination with each other.

Hearing a complaint about illegal dumping of debris on vacant plots in Saraswati Kunj Society and along the roadside and the matter of illegal mushrooming of slums and encroachment done on government land in Gurugram city, the Chief Minister directed the Estate Officer-II to remove all encroachers from his jurisdiction within one month’s time.

The Estate Officer apprised the Chief Minister that earlier, he had launched an encroachment drive to remove slums, and now, he will again run a campaign to get the encroachments removed.

Directing the officers of the Municipal Corporation regarding the dumping of debris in the vacant plot, the Chief Minister said that a portal should be developed for receiving the complaint about the debris and the Municipal Corporation after charging the prescribed fee should ensure its lifting to the designated place within 24 to 48 hours.

I BOW MY HEAD IN REVERENCE TO EVERY HOLY PLACE WHERE GURU SAHIB VISITED AND RESIDED: KHATTAR

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Thursday said that the Sikh community has a rich and proud history. “Wherever the Sikh Gurus visited and travelled in Haryana, Gurdwaras were built in their memory. Today, these Gurudwaras remind all of us about those spiritual and most revered Gurus,” he said.

Khattar said that Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur had refused to bow down before the Mughals and for this, he had also sacrificed his life.

The Chief Minister said that he bow his head with reverence to every holy place where Guru Sahib visited and resided and that is why every Gurudwara which is dedicated to him will remain an invaluable heritage for Haryana.
