Queue Mgmt System in 8 more RTOs

The State Transport Department has introduced Smart QueueManagement System to improve the citizens’ experience at another eightRegional Transport Offices (RTOs),Malkangiri, Boudh, Gajapati,Nabarangpur, Phulbani, Rayagada, Baripada and Chandikhol.

Earlier the facility was implemented with an initial investment of Rs2.18 crore in 15 RTOs, including Bhubaneswar, Cuttack (Track),Baleswar, Bhadrak, Angul, Ganjam, Sambalpur, Rourkela, Bolangir,Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Deogarh and Subarnapur. Thework is under progress in 12 more RTOs.

The system ensures better customer engagement, less waiting time andcatalyses higher customer satisfaction. The facility is the first ofits kind in Government Departments of Odisha

“It is hassle free and robust for the end-to-end automation to managethe queue of the customers who come to avail different services. Thesystem simplifies and fast tracks the process of issuing licence,registration of vehicles and tax payment etc,” said AdditionalCommissioner, Transport (Tech), DhananjayaSenapati.

When an applicant comes, a token is generated at the office. Thecitizens need not stand in queue. They can comfortably sit inside theoffice for their turn. There would be a display system at all thecounters to announce the token numbers. The applicants can know theapproximate waiting time for getting the service through predictiveforecasting by the system. The citizens will receive notification fortheir service from time to time.
