Haryana Power Minister Ranjit Singh on Wednesday said that to promote solar energy as an alternative energy, the State Government has decided to provide 75% subsidy for installation of solar power plants on the roofs of Dharamshalas belonging to Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes in Haryana. Similarly, 50 percent subsidy will be given to the buildings of other social institutions. He said that the state government will provide 50 percent financial assistance for the solar plants on the buildings of social institutions and the remaining 50 percent will be borne by the beneficiary institutions.
