Department of Community and Family Medicine, AIIMS, Bhopal has organized a workshop on “Anthropometric Data Analysis†on the occasion of the national nutritional month. The workshop was inaugurated by Prof (Dr) Ajai Singh, Executive Director in presence of Prof. (Dr) Rajesh Malik, Dean, Academics and faculties from Dept. of CFM.
Prof. (Dr) Arun Kokane, HOD, Dept of CFM & organizing chairperson welcomed the participant and guests for the workshop and briefed them about the various activities conducted by the Dept. in the community settings for a celebration of Nutrition month 2022. He further highlighted the problem of malnutrition in under-five & mothers and various steps taken by the govt to tackle the problem and expressed the need of skill upgradation of public health experts to handle the anthropometric data so as convert it into a feasible solution at the local level.
It was one day workshop with theory and hands-on training in the computer lab by using WHO anthro software.
Dean, Academics complemented the need for such workshops and efforts to reduce the problem of malnutrition with such events.
Executive Director appreciated the activities conducted by the dept and desired the need of organizing more such events in the near future for the benefit of a larger audience. He further guided the participants and the department regarding the need for research on malnutrition incorporating schools in urban, rural and tribal communities of MP.
He gave his best wishes to the department and its faculties. This workshop focuses on the development of anthropometric data analysis skills among future public health practitioners. It is expected that skills gained through this workshop are translated into action by gathering local robust evidence about the distribution of malnutrition. Which in turn will help in prioritizing areas for action. The programme ended with thanks to all and group photograph.
