Tuesday, 24 October 2023 | Pioneer News Service | New Delhi

Within six months of the installation of Hugo Robotic System, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital here has completed 100 successful cases with the new cutting-edge technology, claiming to set a new standard as the fastest in the Asia-Pacific region to reach this milestone.

This accomplishment highlights the department’s versatility in handling a wide array of robotic surgeries across all medical specialties, said Dr Ajay Sharma, Director of Robotic Surgery.

He explained that one of the distinguishing features of our hospital robotic surgery program is its cost-effectiveness compared to existing alternatives.

“Despite being at the forefront of cutting-edge technology, we at the hospital ensure that these advanced medical procedures are accessible and affordable to a broader spectrum of patients,” said Dr Ajay Swaroop, Chairman, SGRH.

Patients undergoing robotic surgeries at the hospital benefit from a trifecta of precision, accuracy, and a minimally invasive approach. This results in reduced blood loss during procedures and contributes significantly to quicker patient recovery times.

We started doing robotic surgery about 10 years back and we keep improvising by adding a newer robotic platform this year and able to serve the patients with a more refined approach of surgery, added Dr Vipin Tyagi , Coordinator, Robotic Surgery, Consultant Urologist , Kidney Transplant and Robotic Surgeon, Depts. of Urology and Kidney Transplant Surgery  at the hospital.
