The best mica is produced in the country in Jharkhand. But, over the years it was not taken care of. Your government is going to bring a law in this context very soon,” said Chief Minister Hemant Soren in Koderma on Tuesday. With a view to strengthen this link and revive the lost identity of mica in the first phase, the CM flagged off a vehicle for restarting the work at Dhibra (Mica) dump. On the one hand, this will put an end to the illegal mica industry, which has been running for years. At the same time, exploitation of lakhs of labourers will stop and systematic employment will be created.

It may be known that before the year 1980, about 400 mining leases of mica mineral were there in Koderma. In the year 1980, due to the implementation of the Forest (Conservation) Act and the effect of wildlife shelter, almost all the mining leases of mica mineral in Koderma were closed. Presently there is not a single mining lease of mica mineral operating in Koderma district. At present, many efforts are being made by the government to revive mica minerals.

In this sequence, by Jharkhand Gazette No. 86 dated 03.03.2022, under the proviso to rule 9 (1) (a) of Jharkhand Minor Mineral Grant (Amendment) Rules 2021, "Mica minerals found in Dhibra dump under the state of Jharkhand, whose commercial value Ho's storage / dump will be executed through Jharkhand State Mineral Development Corporation Ltd. In light of the above, the Directorate of Geology has identified for removal of mica from Dhibra dump (residue) stored in Mouza-Charki, circle Koderma under Koderma district.

From the vehicle flagged off by the Chief Minister, Dhibra will be selected by the members of cooperative societies related to Dhibra dump and loaded in the vehicle marked by District Mining Office, Koderma and District Administration, Koderma only. Today the said vehicle was flagged off by the Chief Minister, Government of Jharkhand from Paharpur More in Koderma district to send it to its destination, Mouza-Tham, Zone-Chandwara, the mineral storage license site held by JSMDC.
