In the light of section 9 of Chapter II of The Maneuvers field Firing and Artillery Practice Act, 1938, in view of the closure of artillery practice since 1994 and the protest of thousands of villagers for a long period after the order of the Chief Minister Hemant Soren the proposal to re-notify the Netarhat Field Firing Range was rejected by the state government in the year 2022.
A government press release stated that it is being spread through the media and social media that the Netarhat field firing range has not been cancelled. While the State government's letter-582, dated-29.08.2022 and letter-376, dated- 14.06.2022 clearly mention that the proposal to re-notify the Netarhat field firing range has been rejected on the orders of the Chief Minister. Now after the decision of the state government, no military exercise will be done here keeping in view the sentiments of thousands of villagers.
