NTDA holds maiden meeting in Netarhat

Wednesday, 18 October 2023 | PNS | DALTONGANJ

The Netarhat Tourism Development Authority (NDTA) held its first meeting in Netarhat on Monday.  It was on 18.7.2023 that by order of the governor the Netarhat Tourism Development Authority was formed.

The NTDA was presided over by the director tourism Anjali Yadav, DC Latehar Himanshu Mohan and a fleet of officers like DFO Lohardaga, deputy director south division of the tiger reserve Palamu, SDO Mahuadanr, district planning officer, BDO etc.

Sources said as it was the first meeting the officials threadbare discussed the nitty gritty of the integrated development of Netarhat.

It has been found here that many line departments do carry out works here which do not give a sign or picture of homogeneous development but a fragmented look.

The NTDA has been formed to have a convergence of all the stakeholders of an integrated development here.

Latehar district planning officer Santosh Bhagat who took part in this meeting said the maiden meeting took off on a positive note to have an integrated development of Netarhat.

Like other such authorities this NTDA is facing hiccups like space for office, human resources like clerk, accountant, peon, fund to move on etc. Sources said mapping of Netarhat is the first requisite for a holistic approach to promote tourism here.

There are 9 panchayats here in Netarhat, and Netarhat is one of them. The NTDA at the outset is to focus on this panchayat Netarhat. The course of development of the remaining 8 villages will be decided later on.

The NTDA wanted to keep Netarhat clean and smart and this is possible when there is no garbage, especially the plastic and polythene around.

The local block level administration knows that a mere banning of plastic and polythene is no panacea so to start with, it has been decided to pick plastic and polythene wherever they are found abandoned in and around Netarhat.

There is a planning to first put in place 'dona pattal' of Sakhuwa leaves, to be brought in bulk from Banari in Lohardaga forest division where there is a plant of making dona pattal as a replacement and substitute for the plastic and polythene in Netarhat.
