Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), a leading public sector undertaking, has undertaken a series of dynamic digital transformation projects across the organization to propel it into the future.
With a vision to equip its workforce with cutting-edge skills, SAIL's Human Resource Development (HRD) collective has taken a proactive approach by initiating various programs aimed at upskilling employees in emerging technologies. To accelerate the skilling process, SAIL has forged a strategic partnership with the FutureSkills Prime, a joint initiative of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and IT-ITeS Sector Skills Council nasscom (SSC nasscom).
As part of this collaboration, SAIL will join forces with SSC nasscom for awareness and skill competency development programs that align with industry standards. The scope of these programs encompasses both Foundation and Deep skilling courses in emerging technologies, all delivered throughFutureSkills Prime. This platform has been specifically designed to provide a seamless and effective learning experience, catering to the diverse learning needs of SAIL's workforce.
To mark the commencement of this transformative partnership, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Friday by Asish Chakraborty, Executive Director (SSO with additional charge of HRD), SAIL and Navanit Samaiyar – Head, FutureSkills, SSC nasscom. The event was followed by demonstration of the value proposition that FutureSkills Prime brings to the table and how the platform can be leveraged to bolster capability building in the realm of digital transformation, that will propel the ambitions of the nation.

As SAIL embarks on this journey, the organization is committed to ensuring that the benefits of this collaboration are experienced across various plants/units. A phased approach will be adopted to roll out detailed demos and awareness campaigns to all plants and units. Stakeholders from various plants and units joined the event in online mode and their involvement is pivotal in driving the success of this initiative. SAIL Digital Transformation Team with the help of HRD Centres will be instrumental in guiding and fostering the implementation of this transformative venture.
