Speaker Sandhwan reviews Law and Order situation in Faridkot

Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan held a review meeting with Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav, inquiring about the law and order situation in Faridkot district.

After receiving information from the DGP regarding police arrangements in the villages, cities, and towns of Faridkot district, Sandhwan emphasized the need to intensify police patrols, increase blockades, and maintain a vigilant watch on suspicious elements.

Highlighting recent incidents of robberies against passers-by in Faridkot district, the Speaker conveyed to the DGP that such elements should not be spared under any circumstances. He asserted the state government's commitment to ensuring the safety of the common people and maintaining an effective police system, declaring that stringent action will be taken against anti-social elements and no stone will left unturned to maintain law and order situation.

According to a statement, DGP Gaurav Yadav, during the meeting, said that no one would be allowed to disrupt the law and order situation in Punjab, including Faridkot district. He reiterated the Punjab Police's dogged commitment to deal firmly with miscreants including gangsters.

Governor prorogues Haryana Vidhan Sabha

Chandigarh: Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatraya on Thursday prorogued the Haryana Vidhan Sabha. A notification to this effect has been issued by the Haryana Vidhan Sabha Secretariat, said the government official spokesperson in a statement.

Hry Minister emphasizes public participation for development

Chandigarh: Haryana School Education Minister Kanwar Pal Gujjar on Thursday attended a programme organized under the Viksit Bharat Jan Sankalp Yatra in villages Piruwala and Feruwala of Yamunanagar. Addressing the gathering, he said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, development initiatives are uniformly progressing across the state and the nation. Both the country and the State are steadfastly advancing on the path of growth. The government has effectively rolled out welfare schemes benefiting various sections of society, including farmers, laborers, women, businessmen, and workers. Gujjar stressed the importance of public participation in achieving Prime Minister Modi's vision of a developed India by 2047. He administered an oath, underscoring the government's proactive approach in addressing citizens' concerns.

Hry Urban Local Bodies commissioner inspects waste to energy plant

Chandigarh: Haryana Urban Local Bodies Commissioner Vikas Gupta on Thursday inspected Murthal-Tajpur Waste to Energy Plant and reviewed the production capacity of the plant. He directed the officers that all the garbage from the concerned areas should be sent to the plant so that it can be used to generate electricity. Gupta inspected the plant along with Municipal Commissioner Sonipat Vishram Kumar Meena, and other officers. He reviewed the production capacity and other necessary arrangements. He said that the plant should be operated smoothly so that the garbage can be disposed of properly, which will strengthen the cleanliness system.

25 lakh people attended Viskit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in Hry so far

Chandigarh: Haryana Government official spokesperson on Thursday said that 25 lakh people have attended Viskit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in Haryana so far. Out of this, over 4.81 lakh people have visited health camps and got their health checked. Out of these, 3.23 lakh people have undergone TB screening. Over 5 lakh 92 thousand people have been issued Ayushman Bharat cards and 5956 farmers have been issued Kisan Credit Cards during the Yatra. More than 1.28 lakh applications were received under Ayushman Chirayu Scheme and 22531 Svamitva cards were distributed.  In addition, 7370 people have sought information about the PM Svanidhi scheme and 3038 people took information related to natural farming. During the Yatra, 20326 women, 32510 students, 4492 local athletes and 4293 local artists were also awarded, the spokesperson added.
