TV channel criticises Modi, Shah; BJP workers upset

Friday, 19 April 2024 | Kumar Chellappan | KOCHI

Even as the election day is fast approaching in Kerala, the BJP has caught itself in a strange situation as a satellite TV news channel owned and operated by Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar has unleashed a non-stop campaign against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and the BJP.

What adds spice to this campaign is the fact that Rajeev Chandrasekhar is the BJP candidate from Thiruvananthapuram Lok Sabha constituency. Asianet News, owned by Rajeev Chandrasekhar, was telecasting a programme on Thursday lampooning Suresh Gopi , the BJP candidate from Thrissur constituency. What has upset the people is the kind of humiliation meted out to Modi and Shah by the Channel ostensibly at the instance of Rajeev Chandrasekhar.
