125 sand trolleys seized in Bilaspur

The Revenue and Mineral Departments in Chhattisgarh have seized 125 tractor trolleys of illegally mined sand in Bilaspur district, an official communiqué said on Friday.

The Sashakt Nari Mahasangh women’s group in Gutku village had demanded an end to illegal sand mining. The sand has been dumped back into the Arpa river.

Officials said 35 trolleys of sand were illegally mined by Tilak Verma, 40 trolleys by Jeevendra Singraul and 50 trolleys of sand were found abandoned in Ghutku village.
