Tuesday, 22 October 2024 | PNS | Chandigarh

After getting the portfolio, the Haryana Ministers kept the bureaucracy on its toes throughout the day on Monday. Haryana Transport Minister Anil Vij on Monday inspected the Ambala Cantonment bus stand and pulled up the officials for poor sanitation and encroachment by shopkeepers. He also issued directions to suspend the bus stand superintendent for poor conditions and sought a complete record of the people running various shops at the bus stand.

Vij, who reached here in a Haryana Roadways bus, inquired about the facilities. He also visited various shops being run at the bus stand. The Minister pulled up the roadways officials after seeing the encroachment by the shopkeepers and said that this is public money and the public demands accountability. Irregularities will not be tolerated, he warned.

The new Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) and Public Works Department (PWD) minister, Ranbir Gangwa, has set the tone for the redress of grievances of people in Hisar district related to water supply, sewerage and drainage system, and broken roads. Gangwa, an MLA from Barwala, has asked the district administration to undertake public welfare projects and said there would be no paucity of funds. He said he was aware of the condition of the civic infrastructure related to sewerage and drainage in Hisar and Barwala, and said he would set it in order.

Haryana Women and Child Development and Irrigation Minister Shruti Choudhry said that administrative officials are an important part of the government's team and we all have to work together to provide a corruption and crime free environment to the people of the state. Choudhry was addressing a meeting of administrative officials in Bhiwani. She said that Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has strictly instructed that corruption and crime will not be tolerated at all. In this matter, the state government has adopted a zero-tolerance policy and the officials are expected to work in accordance with the policies of the government.

Arti Singh Rao, Health, Medical Education and Research, Ayush said, "Providing affordable premium healthcare at the grassroots will be my priority. We want to ensure that every single village, town, colony has access to healthcare. We want to increase the outreach of healthcare benefits to more sections of society, especially women. Additionally, we will be setting up government hospitals across the state. Each district will have a well-equipped multi-specialty Civil Hospital and improved secondary and tertiary care. We have already promised a medical college in each district and would work towards realising this goal.”

Vipul Goel, ULB, Revenue and Disaster Management, Civil Aviation said, “I want to address civic crises gripping all districts. The star NCR districts — Gurugram and Faridabad — despite having the largest municipal bodies, are suffering the most. Soon, we will implement a revised action plan to make them more efficient."

Rao Narbir, Industries and Commerce, Environment, Forest and Wildlife, Foreign Cooperation, Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare said, “Industries and commerce are our backbone. Industrialists in districts like Gurugram, Faridabad and Panipat have a long list of woes and pending demands. We will take them up on a war footing. Getting more foreign investment for the state and improving ease of doing business will be a top priority. Haryana will be the biggest foreign investment market. My key agenda right now will be the conservation and restoration of the Aravallis. The forest has been encroached upon with illegal construction, mining and C and D waste. I will put an end to this and restore the glory of the Aravallis."
