Tuesday, 12 March 2024 | Staff Reporter | BHOPAL

Bhopal Crime Branch on Monday arrested the accused of committing crimes of fraud and breach of trust, accused used to earn profit by cheating and selling the vehicle at a higher price.

Vikram Singh, a resident of Kolar Road in the city, lodged a complaint that Rinku Tomar, originally a resident of Shivpuri district, betrayed his trust by dishonestly selling his Scorpio car to another person. After this Rinku refused to give the money after selling Vikram's car. The police registered a complaint and started investigating the matter.

The accused was arrested on the basis of information received from an informer.

After registering a complaint in the matter, the police reached Shivpuri to investigate the accused and during which informatiopn was received about Rinku's presence on Shivpuri Guna bypass. On reaching the place, the police found a person similar to the description described by the informer. On interrogating the person, he revealed his name as Rinku. After which the police took him into custody.

On being interrogated about the vehicle after his arrest, the accused told that in April 2023, he had asked Vikram Singh to get a good amount of money in exchange for the Scorpio vehicle. But without the knowledge of the owner, the vehicle was sold to Amar Singh, a resident of Guna district, for Rs 3.5 lakh. Whereas the actual price of the car was Rs 6 lakh. Apart from this, the accused also assured Amar Singh to get the car registered in his name.

According to the information received from the accused, the police contacted Amar Singh, the person who bought the car, and interrogated him by giving him a notice. During interrogation, Amar Singh told that accused Rinku had talked about getting the car transferred to his name in a couple of days, but it did not happen even after a long time. Police found Vikram Singh's Scorpio car in Amar Singh's house itself. Which was seized by the police.

Meanwhile a case of payment by issuing fake bills for attached vehicles has surfaced at CMHO office of Bhopal.

According to the bills which are on paper, these vehicles on rent are Innova Crysta, Dzire and Bolero, but when their numbers were investigated, a shocking revelation was revealed. Actually, a total of Rs 88000 was paid on two bill numbers 7194 and 7386 of Swift Dezire (19 BA 0310).

When investigated in the RTO, it was revealed that this number was not of any Dzire car, but of a CT 100 bike of Satna resident Kandhilal Sen, which never came to Bhopal. Similarly, in another bill in which a payment of Rs 27000 has been made, the Dzire vehicle is shown on MP04T4533.

This is actually the number of the auto rickshaw of Jahangirabad resident Abdul Rashid, but in the CMHO office, payments for the vehicles have been being made to a private tour and travel company for years on this number. By issuing fake bills for more than 10 such vehicles, sometimes by increasing the payment and sometimes by decreasing, the government's revenue is being harmed.

Private tour and travel company is being given benefits, information about more than 10 such fake bills came to light

Actually, according to the rules of the Finance Department, only taxi quota vehicles can be hired and not private category vehicles. Congress leader Puneet Tandon has complained about this to the Lokayukta including Deputy CM, Chief Secretary and top officials of the Health Department.

CMHO Bhopal Dr. Prabhakar Tiwari we have a complete proof system here. Before the payment is released, four people verify it. There are no vehicles here in bulk but only a few vehicles are available. It is possible that in some cases a clerical mistake may have occurred.
