Two girls had a narrow escape while their parents were run over by a speeding ambulance resulting in their death on the spot in Boudh district on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Mitu Behera and his wife Manorama Behera.
As per reports, the couple parked their two-wheeler on the Kiyakata overbridge and the children stepped out to gaze at the river. Just while they were looking down from the bridge, the speeding ambulance hit the husband-wife duo from behind killing them on the spot.
Locals nearby rushed the bleeding couple to the Boudh hospital, but doctors declared them dead on arrival. Further investigation was underway.
